A heavy hoop with a smoothly swelling profile tapering from the narrow back of the hoop to a broad bezel set with a green and white marbled stone intaglio. The intaglio depicts the image of a Heron holding a fish in its beak. In Ancient Rome, the heron was an augury bird used in divination. Its presence signified the coming of an event.
